HOW TO DOWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX: DOWNLOAD MOVIES AND TV SHOWS ON THE GO

Wondering how to download movies and TV shows from Netflix? This guide explains everything you need to download from Netflix, including compatible devices, why you can’t download some shows and movies, and how to change the quality of your downloaded content.

Netflix introduced the download feature in 2016 and is now one of the best perks to subscribe to the service. Wherever you are, you can use the Netflix app to download a variety of TV shows and movies on your device.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX: A WORKING DEVICE?

Depending on your streamer, you can download the following devices from Netflix.

iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 9.0 or later
Android phone or tablet running Android 4.4.2 or higher
Amazon Fire tablet running Fire OS 4.0 or higher
Windows 10 tablet or PC running version 1607 or later
Older Chromebooks and Chromebox devices

In each case, you’ll need to download the Netflix app to download Netflix shows and movies on the go. On iOS, it’s the App Store. On Android devices, this is the Play Store. On Amazon’s Fire devices, it is the Amazon Appstore.

Obviously, you actually need enough storage to download a show or movie, as well as an internet connection and Wi-Fi specifically for your mobile device.

For Windows 10 devices that include laptops and desktop PCs, you will need to download the Netflix app from the Microsoft Store. Sadly, you can’t open the Netflix browser in Chrome or Microsoft Edge and start downloading shows and movies.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD MOVIES FROM NETFLIX

It uses images from the Windows 10 app to show how the download process works, but it’s basically the same for all apps on Netflix. First of all, not all movies and TV shows from Netflix are available for download. Not all titles are available for download due to restrictions on rights to certain content or other factors, such as cost and popularity, that Netflix cannot download.

By default, you can download everything marked’Netflix Originals’, as well as many other shows and movies.

Choose from the app to see if a specific show or movie is available for download. The ‘Download’ button is displayed on the list screen or not depending on the content. Here are the titles you can download:

All you have to do is see at a glance all the information available for download on Netflix. On mobile devices, click the’Download’ button in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. Then you will see an option called’Find what to download’. Click this and you will see everything available for download on your device.

Similar in Windows 10 apps. Click the menu button in the top left corner and scroll down to’Downloadable’ at the bottom. Selecting this will show you all the TV shows and movies available for download from Netflix.

Netflix has a feature called Smart Download. For example, while downloading an episode of a TV show, for example when you reconnect to Wi-Fi, all completed episodes are automatically deleted and the next episode is downloaded.

This setting is basically the same for all devices, but in Windows 10 you have to open it by selecting three dots on the top right screen.

In the menu, go to the’Downloads’ section and click on the pen in the top right corner and you will be given the option to uninstall the downloaded program or movie on your device.

According to Netflix, you can get up to 100 downloads on any device with a membership plan. One device for basic tier Netflix subscribers, one for standard tier, one for premium tier.
